These Are a Few of My Favorite Things

Since I'm pretty new to this world of blogging, I thought it was time to introduce myself and let you in on a few of my absolute favorite things. My name is Tory and I'm 23 years old and am a recent college graduate (sidenote: wonder how long I'm allowed to say "recently graduated" since it's almost been a year). I could tell you more about myself but I think that my favorite things speak for me better than I can...

Meet the love of my life- Skyler, my five year old (he just celebrated a birthday!), rough collie

So I have a confession to make- I'm kind of OCD (anyone who knows me can most definitely attest to this) so I love anything having to do with organization

The Green Team

One of the best colors for spring is a bight kelly green. I have seen so many photos with pops of this color and it has inspired me to look for a few to add to my wardrobe. (Of course I'm just a week too late for St. Patrick's Day, but to me green is appropriate all season)

Here are two shots of the colored denim I'm infatuated with. I found the perfect pair from J.Crew for $125.
They are the Toothpick Jean in Garment-Dyed Twill- in Festival Green.

I haven't been able to locate this exact pair of Tory Burch Reva Flats, my guess is they are from a previous season (you may be able to get lucky on eBay). But I do love the idea of a little pop of color with a cute pair of flats. I am equally in love with these flats from jgshoe.com. They come in a variety of colors, my personal favorites are the purple and red but the green would be a nice punch for spring! They cost $88.
Here are a few other inspiration shots I found on tumblr and pinterest, in case you already own green and need a few ideas on how to incorporate it into your outfits:
A heavy sweater paired with a skirt is a great balance for spring weather. This look works so well since all the other items of clothing are so muted, it allows the green to really pop.
This bold look is fascinating to me. I'm so intrigued by how well two shades work so symbiotically together for a truly beautiful look. I adore high waisted skirts and really like this idea of pairing it with a jacket.

Handbag Heaven

I never used to fancy myself much of a bag girl, I preferred to spend the money on clothing. But lately my mantra has really changed. As of right now I alternate between my Longchamp bags and a Gucci doctor bag style purse, for everyday. But here are a few others I have been eyeing:

I'm head-over-heels for this Tory Burch Robinson mini satchel bag. This is definitely at the top of my wishlist!

Here are some inspiration pics I found on tumbler of classic bags, with which you can never go wrong.
Hermes Birkin- so perfect.

This is honestly my dream purse. I adore everything about it...one day!
Louis luggage- the ideal
And my personal favorite- Longchamp. Have used them since high school and never grow tired of them.

While this bag may not be designer I think it has all the elements of a classic piece. Love the stripes.

Tory Can Never Go Wrong with Tory

Today I woke up, a little bit, on the wrong side of the bed. So after a long day of school and work I made a pit stop at the mall and treated myself to a few goodies I thought I would share. Tory Burch never disappoints!

I was so lucky I snagged one of the last pairs Nordstrom had in stock, in my size. I guess it was meant to be! These will be perfect for summer
While I've been eyeing those TB aviators I mentioned earlier, I had second thoughts when I tried them on in stores. I decided to go with this pair instead (however mine are a different shade of tortoiseshell- a little lighter).

These purchases really brightened by day, for me, retail therapy always does the trick. What do you do for a little pick-me-up?

Arm Candy

Lately, layering bracelets has become a statement piece of sorts. I absolutely love this look. I received a fantastic gold bangle from my grandmother for graduation (it was my great-grandmothers)  and a link bracelet with a gold disk that was my mom's. They're both beautiful and sentimental. I wear these pretty much daily.

When I want to wear silver jewelry, I alternate these bracelets with a silver cuff I have had since high school. To me these are the perfect two staples.

I also like to throw in some other pieces to alternate the basic look. Here are some photos I stumbled upon on pinterest (http://pinterest.com/torybanknell/).  I hope they provide you with just as much inspiration as they have given me!

You can never go wrong with David Yurman and Cartier!
Here is a similar look with gold and turquoise.
So I have a serious obsession with these Hermes bangles. They honestly could not be more perfect! I have an equal obsession with the Cartier "Love" bracelet shown in the second photograph. I would love to know where the snake wrap bracelet was purchased, it's fantastic!
Here's one more look, I just love it.

Currently Coveting

I have had a little bit of a shopping addiction lately so I really don't have a whole lot of room to be eyeing  anything else at the moment, but I just can't help it. Here are a few of the items I've been dreaming about...

As you will come to know I am madly in love with anything Tory Burch and fell instantly for these shades. The pair I originally saw had a navy blue face with orange sides. But I am equally obsessed with this tortoiseshell pair. They retail for $149 but appear to be sold out in the two styles I like (they also come in black). I'm keeping my fingers crossed I can still find them in stores.

I have adored these Jack Rogers wedges for over a year now. This will be the year I break down and buy them. This pair is $186. I'm still debating between the platinum and brown, so let me know your thoughts!
Who doesn't love everything Lilly Pulitzer? And as you can tell from my background, I am a huge fan of this pattern. I love this style of shirt and think this would be a perfect spring and summer addition to my wardrobe. This shirt cost $138

Found these on Currently Obsessed and am just that, obsessed, with them. They are by Sam Edelman and cost $140. I'm thinking since I'm leaving toward the brown Jack Rogers the silver in these will be perfect.
I have a silver wishbone necklace that I live in but would love to have a gold one. This necklace is from South Moon Under and is $60.
I have been dreaming of a chambray shirt for awhile and I'm really liking this one by J.Crew. You will come to learn I'm kind of a J.Crew whore. This top is $78.
Like the rest of the world I adore this Bubble Necklace. It comes in four shades (yellow, orange, black) but this turquoise is my fav. It's $150.

These are the articles of clothing I'm dying to add to my closet, fingers crossed I get to have a few of them!

"Florals? For Spring? Ground breaking"

Well Miranda Priestly said it well, florals are hardly a shocking trend for spring, and yet I still love them! I think it's mainly because of the bright colors that are inevitably associated with them. And after months of grays and blacks I'm ready for a punch of color.
I'm kind of addicted to Gossip Girl, one of the huge draws being the fabulous clothes. And this is literally one of my favorite looks ever showcased. I adore the pink accents in the belt and purse, and the silhouette of the dress is pure perfection. I even admire Blair's daringness to mix in another pattern, especially with such a bold dress, and yet somehow it works!

Not sure if you would technically consider this a floral but I say it's in the family. This look is such a great alternative if you're not wild about being draped head to toe in a floral print. This top looks fantastic paired with simple black shorts and a colorful clutch. She was also smart to pull her hair back, allowing the print of the top to be the statement. Olivia always has flawless taste.

Ran across this photo on pinterest (my total obsession) and I love this idea. If you're into the floral trend but may not want to sport it every day, this is a great option for you. A cute suit is perfect!
And if you are just dipping your toe into the floral pool, this is an idea for you. I've seen so many bold scarves lately, just attach one to a purse and you're good to go! The great part about this is you're not confined to anything, you can mix up the looks countless times. And this look always looks so chic!
