I'm definitely a night owl. I can stay up to 3:00 am without even batting an eye (pun intended). But lately I've been trying to alter my schedule. For the past few weeks I try to unplug myself about an hour before I intend on actually turning my lights off.
First I catch up on current events. I subscribe to the New York Times email alerts with the days headlines. I do my best to read a few articles (even though sometimes they're on subject matters I'm less than versed on). I figure I'm getting something out of it and it helps me decompress.
After I caught up I read my book until I start to feel tired. I absolutely love to read! I particularly love to read during the summer because of all the time I have available to dedicate to my reading material. During the year I spend my spare time catching up on episodes of my shows, since my schedule is so strange I tend to miss them when they originally air. But since there are no new episodes over the summer I'm able to really delve into my novels. Nothing better than reading a good book by the pool or on the beach. I'm counting down the days until my favorite author Emily Giffin releases her newest book (I believe it's due out in August). I love her storylines and characters, I've read several of her novels two or three times. Jodi Picoult is another author that never disappoints me. I haven't read her two latests (their plots didn't strike me) but she wrote my absolute favorite book The Pact. I recently finished The Hunger Games trilogy and was surprised how much I loved them (since I'm not usually a fan of fantasy or futuristic writing). But, the plot was so interesting, and of course I was caught up in the love triangle. A also adore the classics, The Great Gatsby is one of my favorite books. Right now, I'm reading Sisterhood Everlasting. For those who read the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants this is a continuation of their story but now they're about to turn 30 and it's about how their lives have changed since they were teenagers. I'm enjoying it so far. I was so into those books when I was in high school so I want to know how it all ties up in the end. What are you currently reading? I'm always looking for good suggestions!
Time to go unwind!
