Weekend Wardrobe

If you're anything like me, by the time the weekend rolls around, all you want to wear are comfortable clothes. I spend so much time and energy trying to decide what to wear during the week that come weekend I have exhausted all of my fashion inspiration. I'll completely confess that when I'm running around, checking things of my to-do list, I am almost always in head-to-toe Lululemon, or other workout clothes. Partially I figure that if I'm wearing gym clothes I'm more likely to force myself to actually participate in some physical activity, and partially it's because they're comfortable and easy.

One of the new trends lately are more glam leisure clothing, which I'm obviously on board with. They allow you to look stylish and put together, but offer the comfort of pajamas.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

It's Wednesday again kiddos, and you know what that means...

I've been a Taylor fan since my best friends and I wore out her first album in high school. And while I've wavered on my opinion of the artist from time to time, there's no denying that her music is catching and damn fun to sing along to. Plus I'm such a sucker for those hidden messages she always provides.

I think this powder blue Jenny Packman gown (and L.K. Bennett Agata Sandals) is one of my new, all time favorite, looks. I must own those shoes!

I'm dreaming of these robins egg Valentino's

How are you feeling this Wednesday?

Haunted by Halloween

I'm just going to say it, I hate Halloween. I've never been a huge fan, even when I was little, but as I've grown up it has just filled me with so much anxiety. I can never come up with clever costume ideas and even when I do manage to concoct a half baked attempt, I feel silly. I had kind of hoped I was past the point when I was expected to dress up but alas I was roped into giving it one more go, with two of my friends. (I swear this is the last year!)

Queen Bee (my personal fave)

If you're anything like me, a Halloween costume has been the last thing on your mind. But before you know it, you'll be expected to don a mesmerizing ensemble. So I thought I would share some of my favorite, easy, costume ideas.

Kelly, from StudioDYI is literally a genius and while I long for the day when I no longer have to dress up, these ideas actually put me in the Halloween mood! Check out her other ideas here

Shop Shopbop's Sale

It's one of my favorite times a year, and I don't just mean because it is officially fall, the semi annual Shopbop Friends & Family sale is upon us! I have scoured the site and have tried to narrow it down to my favorites. Since the sale only happens twice a year I feel compelled to stock up on all the things I've had my eye on, and some other wardrobe staples.

I've been trying my best to squelch my shopping addiction lately so it's been especially difficult to rein myself in. But I'm in desperate need (okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration) of some new fall additions.

Here are a few of my absolute favorites:

This Clu Too Ruffled Striped Top has been in my "favorites" folder for weeks. I'm obsessed with it and can already envision myself living in it. (I also snagged this one).

I'm also dying over these two top options ( 1 / 2 )

I'm slightly obsessed with the grid print trend and the moment I saw this Endless Rose Prep Sweater, I knew I had to have it.

You can never have too much houndstooth and this BB Dakota Nolan Sweater was screaming my name.

I'm also loving these sweater options ( 1 / 2 / 3 / 4

I've realized that I am in desperate need of some fall/winter "going out" dresses and this BB Dakota Jaylee Dress is right up my alley. I'm obsessed with the cobalt blue hue.

Here are a few of my other favorite options ( 1 / 2 / 3

I've been drooling over these gorgeous SKOT Partyskirts for two years and think this might finally be the year I pull the trigger (I also adore the "ball point blue"). I mean, how perfect is it for the holidays?! (I picture it paired with this simple, Three Dot Cropped Sweater).

I contemplated purchasing each one of these ( 1 / 2 / 3 )

I'm head over heels for this entire look, particularly the BB Dakota Darby Sweater Vest. While, it didn't make it into my cart this time, it's at the top of my birthday wish list (hint hint Mom).

Here are some other outerwear pieces I have my eye on ( 1 / 2 / 3

Be sure to use code FAMILY25 at the register for your discount!

I'm dying to know, what did you pick up at this years sale?

What I'm Loving Wednesday

This week's What I'm Loving is dedicated to Gillian Flynn's Gone Girl

Gone Girl: I read Gillian Flynn's novel about two years ago and have yet to find a book I have enjoyed that much. I've been eagerly awaiting David Fincher's adaptation (especially after finding out Ben Affleck was cast, because wow) and finally got to see it Friday night. Rarely do films capture the same magic of a book but I have to tell you, if you liked the book, you will love the movie.

One of the favorite passages of the novel is Amy's "cool girl" speech. It has been dissected and discussed countless times and I was dying to see how it would translated to the silver screen. Without giving too much away, yet again Fincher hit a home run and paid perfect tribute to Flynn's words. (For those who have seen the movie, this perspective is amazing- just be forewarned there are spoilers).

Rosamund Pike was absolutely the perfect choice to play Amy Dunne. To feed into Amy's "cool girl" esthetic, the costume choices were amazingly on point.

And finally, the beauty, and talent, that is Ben Affleck.

I'm dying to know, have you read the book? Did/ will you see the movie?
